El Cepillo by Fulanito                 Merengue

Notes: 

This is a fast and fun merengue that is a great calf workout and will get the heart rate up.

Intro:

Regular merengue

Verse:

Merengue with this rhythm: wide step right, wide step left, triple step, wide step left, wide step right triple step (in place)

Chorus “SI, A CEPILLAR!”:

Mambo towards left with right foot and pull right arm down when he says “SI”, triple step and do the other side “HEY”.  Stay here for musical intro to next verse, keeping the same feet but changing the arms to both pull down on the triple step part “HOO”

Second verse and Chorus:

Same as first verse and chorus

Bridge:

Music slows down, get in wide leg postion very dramatically put left arm in front and right arm above head, Then when the music picks up, gallop feet while wide and do “rodeo arm” on right, on “Shake, shake, shake” move hips from side to side,  Then do switch arms.

3rd Verse:

Same as first

Finale “Latina!”:

This comes right after he says “Like you supposed to”… Double mererenge step to right with arms up and going opposite body.  Then go to the left.  When there’s a little music pause, after going to the right, add on a shoulder shimmy and walk forward 4x, and then after going left  do a shoulder shimmy walking backward 4x.  It’s like you make a box.
