“My classes are like my family…I can’t live without them!”

Hi, I’m Jay.  I moved to Charlotte in 2009 from my hometown Cincinnati.  When I first came to Charlotte, I didn’t know many people here so I started working longer hours and wasn’t really active outside of work.  I gained several pounds within my first 3 months of living in Charlotte and knew that if I didn’t make a change soon my weight would continue to go up.

I heard about a company that made working out more like a PARTY than a workout…so I decided to try a QCDO class!  Two years later…I became an instructor. Each of my classes are a family.  It always feels good to have people to know you by name, motivate you to just keep moving, and celebrate with you after a long DanceOut!

As for my “real” job, I’ve worked with Procter & Gamble in Consumer Insights for 6 years.  I know it’s rare but I absolutely love what I do, which is talking with consumers about our brands and making strategic decisions based on those insights!  P&G owns many major brands: Tide, Gain, Crest, Always, Swiffer and Mr. Clean.  With P&G, I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world and go to countries like Moscow, Mumbai, Tokyo, Mexico City, Beijing, & Shanghai.  I have a BA in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati.

I’ve always loved dancing and I’m known to be the one who keeps the party going.  I get this passion for dance from my father, he taught me to always smile regardless of what’s happening around you and to live life without regrets.  I am very thankful to be so blessed to teach dance, have so many fabulous travel experiences and to live life each day to its fullest!
