My name is Sarah Wilde and I am originally from Honesdale, PA. I have lived in Charlotte since August 2008. I began taking dance classes at the age of three. I have great memories of choreographing routines, wearing my dance recital costumes with Isotoner slippers while dancing around the kitchen floor with my sister as we took turns using flashlights to shine spotlights on each other’s solo performances. I looked forward to the dance and lip sync contests in high school where I got to be Baby Spice and a Beastie Boy. After high school I stopped taking dance classes. It wasn’t until my senior year of college that I decided to use the school’s fitness center.
I took some aerobics classes after college but realized I missed dancing. I took my first Zumba class at a YMCA in Greensboro, NC in 2007 and fell in love. Upon moving to Charlotte, I tried out a few Zumba classes at various fitness venues but preferred my experiences in Greensboro. I found QCDO while flipping through Creative Loafing, tried a class in October 2008, and became a Jam Crew member in the early part of 2009. The enjoyment and passion each instructor exudes while leading classes inspired me to take on the challenge of becoming an instructor.
I have made a lot of great friends within the QCDO family. Come dance with me! Read more about Sarah in her Q&A.
